CHALLENGE GRANTS

Currently there are no Grants available. As soon as we have new Grant equipment available, we will put the Application Document and  link on this page.

CHALLENGE GRANT

Challenge Grants can be implemented at schools or Community Centre’s, especially in under-served communities.

FIRST Lego League Challenge is a 12-session programme for learners aged 9 -16 years and each session should be at least an hour and a half in duration.

After the 12 sessions, the teams will be sharing their STEM journey with parents, educators and learners, at a FIRST Lego League Challenge Celebration Event at their school or Community Centre. This event is to be planned and funded by the grant holder; a celebration event guide is provided. Training can also be arranged for people volunteering as Judges and Referees.

A FIRST SA representative could be invited to the Challenge Celebration Event!

Coaches have to register all their teams at Past Season Challenge Registration

After the Celebration Event

Subsequent implementations of the program may be negotiated. If a next implementation is not planned, the Returnable Equipment (EV3 Core sets/ SPIKE Prime sets with expansions, the Challenge set, the robotics table and laptops) must be returned to FIRST SA, to ensure that other learners benefit from this grant as well.
